About
Will Halas is a Filmmaker and Development Executive based out of Los Angeles. Until recently, Will was Vice President of Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer/Director Michael Dinner’s production company, Rooney McP Productions, under overall deals with Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions. There, he ran development and was a boots-on-the-ground creative producer alongside Dinner.
Currently, Will is a Screenings Operator / Media Manager at Apple TV, where he manages and operates its 50-person theater for executives, filmmakers, and external guests. Simultaneously, he is writing his feature script, HOMEBOYS, a Los Angeles coming-of-age crime drama in the vein of Mean Streets-meets-Boyz in The Hood, which he plans to produce and direct.
Will was a Co-Producer on the FX limited series JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL and an Associate Producer on the Amazon Prime TV shows SNEAKY PETE and PHILIP K. DICK’S ELECTRIC DREAMS. For all three shows, he also directed second unit.
His short film, THE CROP - a 15-minute moody thriller starring Jere Burns and Jamie McShane - played the festival circuit and had a premiere at Creative Artists Agency.
Will enjoys exploring new cities and neighborhoods, camera in-hand. No stranger to a good cocktail bar, he is developing his own half-jokey, postmodern hi-fi cocktail bar, Club 1824, illicitly run out of his small Santa Monica apartment.
Will got his start in the TV industry as the Post Production Coordinator on the 2nd season of the FX series JUSTIFIED and the FX pilot POWERS, before working as Michael Dinner’s assistant on shows including FX's JUSTIFIED, Showtime's MASTERS OF SEX, and Netflix's UNBELIEVABLE.
Will attended and graduated with High Honors from Rochester Institute of Technology’s film school. He spent his adolescence hurling his body down stairs on his skateboard and playing in the literal garage band Casual Magnum, which no one outside of his one-stoplight town of Long Valley, NJ has heard of.
He dreams of one day getting a goldendoodle and naming him Turbo.
